Chefs and former directors of a restaurant supply company will relaunch a landmark Sutton restaurant having taken over the lease from its owners of 30 years.

Twin brothers Scott and Steven Lewis aim to revitalise The Boathouse restaurant in Sutton Park, reopening it as The Bracebridge in November.

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, with a fine dining aspect to the evening service. A separate casual menu will run alongside, to be ordered on the restaurant’s terrace.

Scott Lewis says that the kitchen will use “first class” ingredients and that menu pricing will be accessible.

The founders, who take their experience from roles at the likes of Le Gavroche and Pierre Koffmann’s now-closed restaurant La Tante Claire, in Chelsea, take over the restaurant from former owners Laurence and Fran O’Meara.

“It’s a much-loved local institution so we feel a huge responsibility in taking it on,” says Scott on the property.

“It’s long been a dream of ours to open our own restaurant and we feel so proud that we’ve acquired this restaurant in breathtaking surroundings.”

The brothers, who are now hiring staff and constructing the menus, say that the restaurant will create 30 new jobs, including eight full-time chef roles.
