Sherwood, previously of Scout, and Max and Noel Venning, who own two east London bars, will open Little Mercies in September on Crouch End’s Broadway Parade.
The 52-cover restaurant will serve a list of cocktails including the ‘Delicious Sour’ made with cider brandy, vodka, sour apple, apple caramel, egg white and cider; and ‘Peach tea’ made with silver tip tea, tequila, peach, clary sage and soda.
A short menu of evening bar snacks will include a steak bun filled with sliced bavette, garlic aiolo, confit onion, mustard dressing and leaves; panko-breaded chicken; mushroom toast with slow cooked onions, thyme, cashews, toast and herbs; and eggs benedict with brown butter hollandaise and bacon powder.
On weekends, the bar will be open from midday and will serve brunch alongside its cocktails, with coffee from Alchemy.
Crouch End is seeing a number of autumn openings, with a single-sitting restaurant from the team behind the Chicken of the Woods having launched in August; and KERB street food collective set to open a weekly weekend market in the area this week.
