French hospitality giant AccorHotels has added London's The Mondrian hotel to its portfolio after completing its acquisition of a 50% stake in SBE Entertainment Group.

The deal includes The Mondrian, home to the soon-to-relaunch Dandelyan bar, and SBE’s other London properties St Martins Lane and Sanderson London.

SBE hotels and restaurants will become part of Accor's loyalty programme and will be bookable through the group's website.

Accor operates over 4,500 hotels, resorts and residences across 100 different countries.

SBE also owns the largely US-based Disruptive Restaurant group, which has partnerships with chefs Jose Andres and Michael Schwartz.

“Everyone at sbe is hugely excited to combine the unique offerings of both groups to provide our guests with unparalleled lifestyle experiences,” says Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of SBE.

Dandelyan was voted the number one bar in the world at the World’s 50 Best Bars ceremony this month.

However, creator Ryan Chetiyawardana announced prior to the event that he will shut the four-year bar down and start a new project from scratch in its place. It is understood this won’t happen until Spring next year.
