Chef Quique Dacosta has confirmed that his long-awaited London restaurant will open in Fitzrovia in early 2019.

The concept will be called Arros QD and will focus on rice, while showcasing the chef’s “unique style of cooking and highlight premium Spanish ingredients”.

The chef’s plans to open what was rumoured to be a premium paella concept under the name InPaella were first reported by BigHospitality’s sister site MCA in January 2017.

The restaurant was reported to have applied to open within the Plaza Building in 120 Oxford Street, but will now launch in Eastcastle Street, Fitzrovia.

It was understood that the venture, backed by the team behind the Iberica chain, was initially looking to raise £4m to aid the opening of six restaurants under the concept within five years.

Dacosta’s eponymous restaurant in Denia, Spain, holds three Michelin stars and ranked 49th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants List in 2016, but dropped to 68 in the 51-100 list in 2018.
