Brazilian ‘superfood’ brand Acai Berry has opened a second grab-and-go site in Chelsea following the success of its inaugural bricks-and-mortar location in Soho’s Kingly Court.

Slated to open on 24 November, the King’s Road site will be larger than its Soho sibling and will feature new menu items including pancakes and muffins.

The brand was launched as a street food stall in Brick Lane by Brazilians Marcus Carmo and Renato Damiano.

As the name suggests it is focused on the acai berry, an antioxidant rich ingredient which is often touted as a superfood.

Acai Berry’s key product is acai bowls: a puree of acai berry forms the base of the bowls to which customers can add their own choice of toppings such as granola, fresh fruit or peanut butter.

Acai berries are also available in smoothies and juices, and the brand also offers sandwiches, energy balls and organic coffee.

“There are many varieties of acai in stores, in powdered form, in capsules and so on, but our acai is the finest, purest and most nutrient-dense product you will find anywhere in the UK, which I guess is the reason our acai is popular with the likes of David Beckham and other top athletes,” says Carmo, who also operates a pop-up Acai Berry in Ibiza.

“Amongst its long list of health benefits, acai is incredible for muscle repair and enhancing the body’s natural healing process.”
