Fraiche has been run by chef Marc Wilkinson since 2004, but its Oxton site shut on Friday.
Wilkinson is planning to take the name and concept with him to a new location, which has yet to be announced.
The chef launched Fraiche after working at high-end hotels including Pennyhill Park.
The restaurant sat just 10 diners and saw Wilkinson cook solo in the kitchen. It held a Michelin star for 11 years, alongside four AA rosettes.
Writing on Facebook to celebrate the Fraiche’s entrance in to the 2019 red book, Wilkinson said: “This achievement is even more amazing considering it is a one man kitchen situated in a shed proving I have not been a flash in the pan.
“A fitting time to close the restaurant on a high. Thank you to all those guests who believed in me and supported me on this journey.”
Fraiche was also ranked 83rd out of the top 100 restaurants in the UK at Restaurant magazine’s Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards this year.
