The Inn Collection Group has received a £10m funding package from OakNorth bank to support its expansion.

The company, which runs nine pubs with rooms across Northumberland, plans to use the funding to more than double the size of its portfolio over the next three years.

It currently has 271 bedrooms across nine sites, but is aiming to reach almost 900 across 21 locations by 2022.

The Inn Collection Group was founded in 2006 and secured backing from British private equity firm Alchemy Partners in June last year.

Stuart Blair, debt finance director at OakNorth, says the group is expanding amid 'record-breaking' tourism levels in the North East.

OakNorth has previously funded restaurant groups including Leon, Daisy Green and Brasserie Bar Co.
