Wallfish & Wellbourne Bistro closes

Opened in early November, the venue was the product of a merger between well-regarded Clifton restaurants Wellbourne and Wallfish Bistro.
Both the Wellbourne and Wallfish Bistro teams announced the closure on Twitter, stating that it was due to “events beyond our control”.
The restaurant traded from the former site of Wellbourne on The Mall. Wellbourne was launched in 2017 by Dabbous alumni Ross Gibbens and Michael Kennedy, who have since opened sites in London and Spain under the brand.
Wallfish - which is owned by Seldon Curry and Liberty Wenham - announced its intention to close early last year after five years in business.
Kennedy knew the team at Wallfish well having worked there in the gap between Dabbous and Wellbourne.
Wallfish & Wellbourne Bistro served dishes inspired by both restaurants, which focus on local produce and “delivering simple but quality cuisine.”
BigHospitality has contacted the restaurant for comment.
Unfortunately due to circumstances I feel very much out of our control @_Wellbourne will not be reopening again. Thankyou for your support and custom it has not gone unappreciated.
