Three Joes, the sourdough pizza chain founded by three restaurant industry veterans, has gone in to overfunding after hitting its £400,000 crowdfunding target.

The fledgling casual dining group has raised just over £430,000 from 287 investors, with ten days of its Crowdcube campaign remaining.

Three Joes is the brainchild of former Byron operations director Peter Bruton, Pod founder Tim Hall, and Emma Blackmore, who has overseen menu and food development at the likes of Pizza Express and Pret A Manger.

It has opened restaurants in Fareham and Winchester since 2017, offering 10 sourdough pizzas priced from £6.40 - £11.95, alongside salads, milkshakes and takeaway and children's menus.

The team is planning to use the crowdfunding to launch a further three sites outside London over the next year.

Three Joes says in an update: “We're really pleased with the amazing response we've had and are now overfunding towards our stretch goal of financing a fifth restaurant from this investment round.”

The group says it is targeting buildings in market towns or prominent sites in ‘ultra-high footfall locations’ like Westfield shopping centres.
