The group has taken on the former Jamie’s Italian restaurant, which closed late last year, and will reopen it as Banyan Bar & Kitchen on 30 March.
The 5,000 sq ft site is spread across two floors and will be subject to a £1.5m refurbishment, creating 70 jobs when it reopens.
It comes after Arc Inspirations secured £7m funding from Santander towards its expansion last year.
Banyan Newcastle will be the ninth under the brand to open in the North of England, joining Arc Inspiration’s 19-strong portfolio which includes the Manahatta and The Box concepts.
“Our strategy is to continue investing in our core brands Manahatta, Banyan Bar & Kitchen and The Box, building on our cluster approach, opening bars in close proximity with confidence they will trade harmoniously,” says Martin Wolstencroft, chief executive of Arc Inspirations.
Arc Inspirations ’ revenue rose 8.6% to £24.2m in the year to 1 April 2018, while EBITDA increased 33% to £3.2m.
