London’s Yoobi sushi restaurant has become the first British brand to expand internationally through Deliveroo, the delivery platform has announced.

Yoobi, which serves temaki – a cone-shaped sushi roll eaten by hand – is now trading in Paris out of a Deliveroo Editions hub in Courbevoie, in the French capital.

The Japanese-Brazilian concept launched its first bricks and mortar site on Lexington Street in London’s Soho in 2012 and a second followed in Fitzrovia in 2016 – though this has since closed.

A number of international brands begun operating in the UK through Deliveroo Editions in the last year, including Dubai's Pinza pizza and BR8 Kitchen.

Yoobi's overseas expansion was announced by Deliveroo, which served its first ever order in London six years ago today.

The company has confirmed it will launch in eight additional UK towns, with plans to reach a further 40 by the end of the year.

It will begin operating in Sunderland, Dartford, Paisley, Birkenhead, Grays, Blackburn, Doncaster and Ashford next month.

It also plans to roll out a click and collect service for restaurants on its platform later this year.

Deliveroo now operates in over 500 towns and cities worldwide.
