Pizza Hut confirms it is testing own delivery options

Pizza Hut has confirmed it is exploring delivery through Deliveroo in areas where there is currently no service provided by its brand-owner Yum! Brands.

Yum! currently runs a separate Pizza Hut delivery network in the UK through lots of smaller franchisees all over the country.

Speaking at the Casual Dining Show in London last week, CEO Jens Hofma said that Pizza Hut was “clearly in a difficult situation”, but that it was “testing in a number of sites where there is no delivery network, using Deliveroo”.

He said that it had resulted in a nice sales uplift and that it didn’t appear to be cannibalising sales in its restaurants.

“The kinds of people that go on aggregators are not necessarily the same people that order directly from Pizza Hut or Domino’s through their bespoke websites, so we are living in hope that the two can actually live next to each other and that Yum will give us access to a much larger number of territories,” he said.
