The restaurant will focus on “healthy and light” Pakistani cuisine, with spices roasted on site and masalas made from scratch.
Dishes will include Chicken Hara Masala, marinated overnight in a herb yoghurt base; Khattee Daal, lentils slow cooked and tempered with curry leaves and whole red chillies; and Naan Khatai, a crumbly semolina and flour cookie, glazed and sprinkled with freshly chopped pistachios.
Khan grew up in Pakistan, before studying at Leith’s School of Food and Wine and hosting her Gourmet Karachi Supper Club across London.
“At Shola our aim is to take you back to an era of simple, clean cooking, the way it has been done in our family kitchens for decades,” says Khan.
The White City Place site was formerly owned by the BBC and is now home to restaurants including Kricket, Bluebird and Bea Vo’s Butterscotch bakery.
