What's on at The International Food & Drink Event 2019
The International Food & Drink Event (IFE) is returning to London’s ExCel from 17-20 March.

Now in it’s 21st​ year, the trade show will provide members of the food and drink industry with the chance to discover emerging trends; meet with thousands of international, future-focused producers and brands; and hear talks from key figures across the sector.

Here’s a round-up of what to expect at the biennial trade show this year:


Some 1350 food and drink manufacturers will be showcasing their wares, with several new products on display.

Jelley’s Distilleries will be launching both its Pomegranate and Rosemary vodka, and Grain/Straight vodka, made using organic grain. Visitors can sample the products and learn how to create cocktails via live mixology demonstrations at stand N2277.

Moroccan food brand Amboora will be using IFE to launch to the market, showcasing a range of North African tagine cooking sauces, with samples available to taste at stand N2670.

The Protein Ball Co is also set to showcase its newest product range - Breakfast Balls. Launched in September 2018, the range includes Hazelnut + Cacao, Strawberry + Vanilla and Apple + Blueberry flavours.

Talking trends

A number of industry figures will be taking to the Talking Trends stage to discuss some of the major issues facing the sector today.

Key panels will include:

How the rise of plant-based eating is continuing to shape our industry​ – with panellists including Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella), Louise Palmer-Masterton (Stem and Glory) and Mark Banahan (The Vegan Society).

Secrets to success in the casual dining sector​ – including Eve Bugler (Bababoom), Ian Edward (Hippo Inns), and Charlie McVeigh (Draft House founder and investor).

How is delivery driving profits for you?​ – with Tom Molnar (Gails Bakery), Rob Warren (Jungle Creations) and Peter Georgiou (Supper).

Tasting trends

This new street food-style feature will see chefs cook recipes focused on emerging trends. Nick Russell of The Wasabi Company will showcase Japanese flavours, while Tony Kitous will be discussing and cooking some Middle Eastern dishes.

Visit Tokunbo Koiki’s Nigerian-inspired dessert station to taste her take on a brownie, and hear what flavours we should expect to see more of in the next year.


A new Advice to Go zone will give exhibitors and visitors the chance to gain insight from industry experts in an informal one to one setting. Representatives from organisations including The Food and Drink Exporters Association (FDEA), The Food and Drink Federation (FDF), and The Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) will be on hand to answer questions.
