A halal steakhouse concept is to launch in Manchester this summer with what it claims is the city’s first dry bar.

Ribeye Steakhouse, which will open in the city’s up-and-coming First Street area in May, describes itself as a “meat lovers heaven”, combining the finest cuts of meat with locally-sourced ingredients.

A selection of steaks and burgers sourced from Wagyu and Aberdeen Angus cattle will headline the menu, and there will also be seafood, chicken and lamb dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options available.

"We're currently working on some exciting dishes," says owner Sohail Kaushal, who confirmed that a dedicated patisserie chef will be on hand to create desserts and a selection of mocktails.

The huge 140-cover restaurant is to feature an open kitchen, mezzanine level and an outdoor area that can seat up to 40 people

Kaushal says he jumped at the chance at being able to open on First Street.

“We were born and bred in Manchester, and see [it] as one of the most diverse cities in the world,” he says.

“We want people from all backgrounds to come to the restaurant and enjoy their experience."
