Foxlow, the sister restaurant brand to Hawksmoor, is to close its Soho site after two years of trading.

In an email sent to its customer database the group says that though the restaurant had been “very successful in many ways”, it had received a “great unsolicited offer for the site” and decided to accept.

Foxlow Soho will close after lunch service on 18 April.

“We’re really proud of the team [at the restaurant] who have all worked so hard, shown customers a great time and have made the restaurant a Soho favourite over the last couple of years,” the email says.

“We’re now going to focus on closing the restaurant in the best way possible: by looking after our suppliers and the people who work there, many of whom will be joining some of our other restaurants.”

Foxlow was launched by Hawksmoor co-founders Will Beckett and Huw Gott in Clerkenwell 2015.

The team also shut Foxlow's Stoke Newington restaurant in 2017 and Chiswick site in 2018 after admitting they struggled to get things right in either location.

Foxlow is left with two remaining sites, in Balham and Clerkenwell.

Hawksmoor has opened eight restaurants since 2006, and will launch its first overseas steakhouse in New York later this year.
