Wahlburgers, the US burger chain owned by actor Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Paul and Donnie, is finally set to open its first European location, in Covent Garden, later this month.

The restaurant was slated to open last year, but was delayed by more than six months.

Opening on James Street, Wahlburgers will serve a menu of burgers and homemade condiments created by chef and co-owner Paul Wahlberg.

Options will include burgers made from a blend of brisket, short rib and chuck steak, with various toppings such as blue cheese; avocado spread; caramelized onions; and mushrooms.

There will also be crispy haddock sandwiches available; macaroni salad; and a selection of made-to-order salad bowls.

Side dishes include French fries; tater tots; and onion rings.

Announcing the opening online more than a year ago, Mark Wahlberg said he was “so excited” to be bringing the burger chain to the UK and could not wait for it to open.

Founded in 2011 by Paul, the burger chain now comprises more than 25 restaurants and food trucks across the US and Canada.

It also has its own accompanying reality TV show, named Wahlburgers, which is due to end this summer after 10 seasons.
