Barullo, the London restaurant launched by chef Victor Garvey in March, has closed.

The site served food from across Spain and was Garvey’s first solo venture in the City.

But as first reported on Eater London it is now listed as permanently closed on Google and is no longer taking bookings through OpenTable.

A spokesperson for Garvey told BigHospitality he had stepped down from his role as chef patron at the end of April due to personal reasons, in mutual agreement with the directors of Barullo Ltd.

On the news that Barullo had shut, Garvey says: “I am sorry to see that it’s closed.”

Garvey made his name with Spanish restaurants Encant and Sibarita in Covent Garden, but both have closed in the past two years.

The chef continues to run Soho restaurant Rambla, which opened in 2017, and was planning to open a further Soho site called Bar Jaleo later this year.

BigHospitality has contacted representatives for Barullo for further comment.
