The project is open to all of Deliveroo’s independent restaurant partners in the UK (nearly half of the 17,000 businesses the food delivery giant is partnered with), and will run until 9am on 15 June.
A shortlist of contenders will then be selected and shared on Deliveroo’s social media feeds, with the final decision put to a public vote.
The three selected winners will each receive a restaurant makeover worth £25,000, as well as support from Deliveroo’s Restaurant Partnerships team to help with marketing and developing in-house operations.
Deliveroo says its decision to launch the competition comes after a study revealed that 88% of British diners place equal importance on the site’s lights, decor and ambience as they do the food.
“These results show that not only do we eat with our eyes, but in fact all our senses need to be treated,” says Susana Voces, Deliveroo’s VP of Restaurants.
