Munich-style beer hall concept Bierschenke is to finally extend its London presence with the launch of a second site in Tower Hill later this month.

The opening follows an £800,000 investment by the company, which says it is currently in negotiations for two further sites.

Bierschenke opened its first hall in London back in 2010 beneath Daly’s Wine Bar in Charing Cross, before moving in 2015 to a larger 8,500ft space on Bloomfield Street off London Wall.

Extending over 6000 sq ft, the new Bierschenke will seat 240 across its Munich-style beer tables, with the hall’s total capacity reaching 400.

In keeping with the Oktoberfest vibe, staff will be dressed in dirndls and lederhosen.

The food menu will feature imported schnitzels and wurst, with the drinks focusing on German craft beers brewed exclusively by a family-owned Bavarian brewery and served in traditional stein glasses.

“Bierschenke was created to bring an authentic Bavarian experience to the city of London,” says Gerry Hanratty, owner of Bierschenke.

“Since the opening of our London Wall site, we have experienced huge demand to extend our presence further.”
