Regional Indian gastropub concept Tap and Tandoor is to open a second site later this month next to Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre.

It comes a year after the brand, which is owned by husband and wife team Ajay and Shivani Kenth, launched its first gastropub in the town of Solihull, in the West Midlands.

The 4,329 sq ft space will feature an 80-cover restaurant, and a menu of classic Indian dishes including butter chicken, tarka daal and chicken tikka tandoor.

There will also be a selection of mixed grill sharing plates with chicken wings, seekh kebab and lamb chops; sides of beer-battered onion bhajis and masala fries; and desserts of malai kulfi and apple and cinnamon samosa.

Drinks include a short list of Indian-style cocktails, locally-sourced craft beers, and Tap and Tandoor’s homemade rose-pink gin.

“We are extremely proud of our brand, from our humble beginnings to being present in two major cities,” says a Tap and Tandoor representative.

“Peterborough has a brilliant reputation for hosting independent brands, especially in Queensgate, and we are looking forward to sitting amongst some brilliant dining concepts.”

Tap and Tandoor is the second concept owned and operated by Ajay and Shivani, who also launched Indian ‘Streatery’ and bar Zindiya in Birmingham back in 2017.
