It will be the US better burger brand’s 11th regional site and first UK franchise, taking the former Eat site at the airport for an October opening.
Meanwhile Barburrito is also set to open with TRG, The Restaurant Group’s travel concessions business, in September, replacing its Shake-A-Hula concept.
The pair are under construction, and will join Sonoma, TRG’s partnership with Giraffe founder Russel Joffe.
The 300-cover concept, inspired by California’s wine region, opened in Easter, and is understood to be TRG’s most successful restaurant at the airport.
Shake Shack, founded by US restaurateur Danny Meyer, first launched in Covent Garden around six years ago.
The Barburrito site will be the brand’s third partnership with TRG, following sites in Bristol and Edinburgh airports.
