Independent neighbourhood-style bar group Darwin & Wallace is set to open its eighth London location, launching on the waterfront in Canary Wharf this October.

Similarly to the group’s other sites, No 35 Mackenzie Walk will be positioned as a ‘a lively all-day social hangout’ with an emphasis on after work socials and weekend brunch.

The space will feature a large bar area with seating, as well as feasting tables and lounge areas with bespoke sofas and armchairs.

There will also be a massive waterside terrace with space for 130 covers.

As with all other Darwin & Wallace sites, the seasonal menu will be overseen by executive chef Simon Duff.

“[This opening] marks another exciting chapter for us as we move east continuing our aspiration to create uniquely designed bars with a home from home aesthetic that forms the perfect backdrop for socialising from morning coffee to nightcap and everything in between.” says Mel Marriott, managing director and founder of Darwin & Wallace.

Darwin & Wallace opened its first site, No 11 Pimlico Road, in 2012 and has gone on to open sites in Richmond, Battersea, and most recently Ealing.

The group is dedicated to being sustainable, having achieved the three-star award from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
