US chicken wing chain Wingstop is planning to open two further restaurants in London this year.

The Texas-born group has taken the former La Petite Bretagne unit in Dalston to open an 80-cover site in late September, serving its signature lemon and pepper wings alongside newer 'spicy menu innovations'.

An additional restaurant will launch in a currently unconfirmed location before 2020.

The roll-out comes a year after Wingstop made its UK debut in London’s Cambridge Circus. The group was also lined up to take a unit at Boxpark Wembley in 2018, but the site never opened.

Wingstop launched in 1994 and has grown to over 1,200 locations worldwide.

In 2017 the company signed a franchise deal with London-based Lemon Pepper Holdings with plans to expand the business.

Wingstop’s UK website says it is looking to build ‘long-term relationships’ with potential partners to begin opening sites under franchise ‘very soon’.
