Brighton-based restaurateur Lee Shipley is understood to have closed his North Street Spanish restaurant Pabellón after less than one year's trading.

The restaurant launched late last yearin a listed building close to Brighton Pavilion.

The menu blended Spanish and Asian influences and included the likes of charred baby gem, pea, mint manchego; salt and pepper squid with black garlic; sticky pork ribs with Korean BBQ sauce and pickled chillies.

Pabellón was Shipley’s follow-up to Circo, which is located just off Preston Circus in Brighton’s London Road area.

Circo - which also offers a fusion of Spanish and Asian cuisine - is currently closed for a summer break but is expected to reopen soon.

Updated: Circo is also understood to have closed its doors for good earlier this week
