The founder of Cosy Box, the Cannes Film Festival pop-up restaurant and club, is planning to open a permanent London location next year.

Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini, who was previously married to UK pop star Cheryl, launched the original Cosy Box in 2009 and it has since attracted guests including actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Natalie Portman.

Now Fernandez-Versini is planning to turn the concept in to a 'global party destination' with sites set to open in London, Los Angeles, and New Delhi.

“I was originally looking at London as my first launch, but Brexit looks set to have a huge impact and India presents a much more interesting opportunity,” says Fernandez-Versini.

A spokesperson told BigHospitality the team was targeting late 2020 for the London opening.

The first international Cosy Box will launch in New Delhi earlier in the year following a £2m investment. It is described as a ‘fine dining experience’ which will serve Mediterranean cuisine to 300 guests each night, as well as hosting events and international DJ’s.

Fernandez-Versini has partnered with hospitality entrepreneur Akshay Anand, who brought the Toy – Room nightclub concept to India, for the launch.

“I’m really excited to take Cosy Box to the next level,” says Fernandez-Versini. “We’ve been doing pop ups for the last decade, but we are shifting gears now, evolving the concept and creating permanent venues.”
