Shortlist for Food Made Good Awards 2019 revealed
Run by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA), the awards recognise restaurants and foodservice businesses whose accomplishments in the last year have driven progress in the industry and demonstrated that ‘food can be made delicious, ethical and sustainable’.
This year’s awards ceremony will be held at Troxy in London on 5 November and will feature 45 shortlisted finalists, of which 32 are independent restaurants, pubs or cafés.
Two new categories that have been added for this year’s awards include the Food Made Good Chef of the Year, which is ‘for the chef who is most effective at leading as well feeding’.
The nominees this year are Tredwells London chef owner Chantelle Nicholson; ‘Ethical Chef’ Deri Reed, who owns The Warren in Carmarthen, Wales; and Conor Spacey, culinary director for Dublin-based catering company FoodSpace.
The Food Made Good Awards are the perfect platform for shining a light on those kitchens and the teams working in them that are using incredible creativity and taking risks to help their customers make food choices that are good for them and the planet,” says SRA president Raymond Blanc OBE.
“Every chef and restaurateur will take inspiration from this shortlist of dozens of inspiring ideas and initiatives successfully implemented by their industry colleagues.”
