Harts Group has closed one of its smaller Pastorcito taco sites after just four months of trading.

The concept opened at the Mercato Metropolitano food hall in London's Elephant and Castle in August but shut its doors on 1 December.

Pastorcito was a spin-off of Harts Group’s El Pastor Mexican restaurant business, and served a short taco menu.

Harts Group said in a statement: “We would like to thank MM for the opportunity to be part of their vibrant market in Elephant and Castle. We have decided to take the Pastor family forward by concentrating our resources into developing our existing restaurants El Pastor, Tortilleria EP, Casa and Plaza Pastor, and exploring other opportunities more akin to these.”

Pastorcito still trades from one location in Arcade Food Theatre on Tottenham Court Road.

Harts Group’s London restaurant portfolio includes Barrafina, Quo Vadis and Parillan.
