Second time lucky? French burger chain Big Fernand has another crack at London

Located on Thurloe Place, the restaurant will serve its menu of burgers made from responsibly sourced meats and which feature classic French cheeses made from raw milk, such as Tomme de Savoie, raclette and Fourme d’Ambert. It will also serve French wines.

The move is the group’s second attempt to crack the London burger market. In 2014 it opened split-level a 60-seat restaurant on Percy Street, close to Tottenham Court Road, at the height of the premium burger trend in the capital. However, the restaurant proved to eb short lived, and closed three years later in 2017.

It follows the success of France-based Big Mamma group, which successfully crossed the channel earlier this year with openings in Shoreditch and Rathbone Place.

The restaurant group, which has more than 50 restaurants across France and the UAE - both company owned and operated under a franchise agreement - was founded in 2011 by restaurateurs Steve Burgraff, Guillaume Pagliano and Alexandre Auriac.

As per before, the restaurant will source its meat from the UK as well as make its buns in house daily.
