Former Bohemia chef Steve Smith has been named as the new head chef of The Latymer at Pennyhill Park hotel in Surrey.

He will start at the Michelin-starred restaurant in February next year replacing Matt Worswick, who has headed the stove for nearly four years.

Smith has been executive chef at Bohemia at The Club Hotel & Spa in Jersey since 2013. His CV includes time with Jean Christophe Novelli, Shaun Hill and Paul Heathcote.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining The Latymer, it’s a fantastic opportunity to further develop my cuisine and the restaurant in such a beautiful setting. My food will be flavour and texture driven using the best available seasonal produce,” says Smith on his appointment.

“We’re thrilled to have Steve join us at the hotel and for us all to have the opportunity to work with such a passionate chef. His commitment to the finest gastronomy matches our philosophies here at Pennyhill Park and I look forward to seeing the direction in which he takes the restaurant,” says Pennyhill Park general manager Graham Copeman.

Part of country house hotels group Exclusive Hotels, Pennyhill Park is a 19th century country house set in 123 acres of Surrey woodland.
