Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant Waka is to open its third London location this month.

The group has taken a site at 3 Thomas More Street near Tower Hill, which it hopes to launch by mid-January.

A spokesperson for Waka told BigHospitality the site will offer the same menu of sushi, hot bowls and cold dishes as its existing restaurants in White City and Houndsditch.

It will feature an open kitchen and seat around 25 covers, though all dishes will be available to takeaway.

Waka was founded by siblings Irakli and Nino Sopromadze in 2017 and focuses on Nikkei cuisine, a style of food which grew out of Japanese immigration to Peru in the 1800s.

Typical dishes on Waka's colourful menu include sake and miso salmon anticucho; chicken katsu curry; and El Unico (a Nikkei sushi set).
