Tamarind Tiger launches in Marylebone
BigHospitality’s sister site MCA reports that Tamarind Tiger, which has launched under K Hospitality’s Charcoal Concepts division, has been developed specifically for the UK market.
The fusion menu features a selection of Indian-inspired tiffin boxes that can be personalised by diners.
Featuring a base of rice, quinoa or salad, the tiffin boxes can include a choice of protein such as scrambled tofu, or white pepper chicken; spiced vegetables such as bengal spiced beetroots, and corn chaat; and toppings like cumin yoghurt, and tamarind chutney.
A range of breakfast options will also be available, including a free-range poached egg pot with masala beans; a cinnamon and chocolate porridge pot with apple cinnamon chutney, cocoa, and almond flakes; and a Parsi potato pot with poached eggs and beetroot ketchup.
K Hospitality is also understood to be looking to roll the concept out to additional sites.
The launch of Tamarind Tiger follows the UK launch of Copper Chimney, another Charcoal Concepts’ brand, which opened its flagship site in Westfield London last October.
Founded in Mumbai in 1972, Copper Chimney aims to explore regional Indian cuisines.
It currently operates 15 restaurants across five Indian cities including Kolkata and Bangalore, and describes itself as a ‘pioneer’ of contemporary Indian cuisine.
