Flat Iron to relaunch Liverpool Street site under core concept
Originally described as “an offshoot from the Flat Iron stable”, Flat Iron X The Winemakers Club served a stripped-back menu of Scottish bavette steak with beef-dripping chips and béarnaise sauce alongside a magnums-focused wine list.
However, the partnership is now described as having just been a ‘pop-up’, with the restaurant now set to serve a wider menu of steak cuts including sirloin, rib-eye, and the group’s ‘signature’ flat iron.
A selection of the pop-up’s most popular wines will continue to be feature on the menu, available by both the magnum and the litre.
“We were thrilled with the response from our pop-up with The Winemakers Club, and we are so excited to announce that Flat Iron will be opening permanently at Bevis Marks,” says Flat Iron founder Charlie Carroll.
“We can’t wait to throw open the doors and give our customers the opportunity to try our Flat Iron steak and other special cuts.”
Having started out itself as a pop-up, Flat Iron opened its first permanent restaurant site in Soho in 2012. It now operates a total of eight restaurant locations across the capital.
The group also operates another offshoot, Flat Iron Workshop, which launched in Arcade Food Theatre last summer.
It was named Best Value Restaurant Operator Under 20 sites, at Restaurant magazine’s most recent R200 awards, which took place in December.
