Seafood specialist Wright Brothers is to add a sixth London restaurant to its portfolio this summer after acquiring its first City location.

Opening close to Bank station on Frederick’s Place, the 6,000sq ft restaurant site, secured by The Mercers’ Company, will be spread over two levels and feature a shellfish display and bar area, and a private dining room.

Founded by brothers-in-law Robin Hancock and Ben Wright and starting out life as a seafood wholesale business back in 2002, Wright Brothers currently operates five London restaurants across Borough, Soho, Spitalfields, South Kensington, and most recently Battersea, which opened in 2017.

Menus are built around serving ultra-fresh seafood sourced from UK fisheries.

At Battersea that includes whole Dover sole with buttered whelks, chilli and potatoes; roasted scallops with chorizo, and curried cauliflower purée; and a shellfish platter featuring oysters, lobster, and crab.

“With iconic landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England on our doorstep, Frederick’s Place is an ideal location for expanding our restaurant offer within the City,” says Hancock.

“Since launching our original restaurant 15 years ago in Borough Market, we have continued to grow our brand and now look forward to revealing our sixth restaurant in London.”
