Gibney’s London to open beneath Daffodil Mulligan

Gibney’s London will offer ‘an authentic Irish pub experience’; host a weekly programme of live music and comedy; and have two booth areas, each able to seat up to 10 people, which will be available for private hire.

Drinks will include a range of Irish spirits and liqueurs, with a 120-strong Irish whiskey collection set to feature; as well as a selection of draft beers such as Gibney’s own house stout

The bar snacks menu, meanwhile, which has been overseen by Corrigan, will include a Durrus cheese toastie with burnt onion and pickled onion chutney; mangalitza black pudding sando served with an apple and cucumber pickle; and salt chilli chicken with chorizo mayonnaise.

Gibney’s of Malahide, which opened in County Dublin back in 1937, is run by publican Tony Gibney and his sons.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing a taste of Gibney’s of Malahide to London in time for St Patrick’s Day,” says Gibney.

“My family have been in the Dublin licence trade for five generations so opening across the pond is a big move for us, and moving beneath Daffodil Mulligan made perfect sense.”

Corrigan launched Daffodil Mulligan​​ alongside Gibney and former Corrigan’s Restaurants managing director John Nugent last November.

It opened on the site previously occupied by Irish chef Niall Davidson’s Nuala, which closed in January 2019 after little more than a year.
