Casual Dining Group sells off final four La Tasca sites

Casual Dining Group (CDG) has offloaded the final four La Tasca restaurants on its books, bringing to an end its ownership of the brand less than five years after originally acquiring it.

A statement posted on the CDG website earlier this month confirms the remaining sites were sold to the newly created Independent Spanish Restaurant Company (ISRC) LTD.

This includes the three La Tasca restaurants still operating in the UK – in London, Essex, and Liverpool respectively – as well as the single La Viña offshoot in Manchester.

According to Companies House, ISRC was incorporated on 13 December 2019 with former La Tasca group operations director James Picton acting as director.

“The successful sale of these four remaining La Tasca locations enables us to focus investment in our core growth brands of Las Iguanas, Bella Italia, Café Rouge and our Concessions Division,” says a CDG spokesperson.

“We are pleased that our teams’ jobs at these locations have been secured, and we would like to wish them very well, and thank them for their service and dedication.”

The first La Tasca restaurant opening in Manchester in 1993, and at its peak grew to a 40-strong chain.

CDG brought the business in 2015 in a deal valued at between £20m and £25m.
