Manchester restaurant Mr Cooper’s will relaunch this April as Mount Street Dining Room & Bar.

The Midlands Hotel's more casual restaurant will have a new look and offering but will continue to be overseen by executive chef Brian Spark.

Mount Street will ‘bring together Northern hospitality and contemporary design, with a focus on sourcing great local ingredients and providing elevated home dining in luxe surroundings’.

The overhaul of the restaurant is part of a major investment project at the central Manchester hotel, which was sold for £115m in 2018.

The full menu has yet to be announced but will be geared towards all day dining and will continue to make use of the restaurant’s in-house butchery and smoker.

Mount Street will offer a wine list with a strong focus on English producers, while the beer menu will showcase northern brewers including Cloudwater Brewery, Alphabet Brewing Company and Track.

“We’re really looking forward to unveiling Mount Street Dining Room and Bar and think it’s going to be a great addition to the city. The North is famous for its hospitality and that will be key at Mount Street,” says managing director of Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland Jason Carruthers.

“While Mr Cooper’s was more of a dinner-orientated destination, we believe Mount Street has all day appeal and we’re excited to be embarking on this new chapter at the hotel.

Mr Cooper’s and The Midlands Hotel’s flagship fine dining restaurant The French were both launched by Simon Rogan in 2013. The L’Enclume chef left both the restaurants in 2016 three years into a five year contract.

On Rogan’s departure the The French was rebranded Adam Reid At The French.
