Deliveroo launches SME support package Coronavirus

Deliveroo has launched a financial support package to help small and medium-sized restaurants (SME) facing challenges as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

In partnership with Visa, Deliveroo will give £500 cash relief payments to 200 small and independent restaurant partners who have remained open through lockdown.

With many SME restaurants most concerned about whether they can break even while reopening at reduced capacities, 80% of the restaurant partners say they will put the cash towards covering staff fees.

The delivery giant has also said it will waive the sign-up fee for SME’s looking to join its platform, and offer advice and support to operators looking to switch to a delivery-only model.

“Deliveroo is passionate about supporting the small, independent restaurant partners on the platform and we are committed to supporting our partners’ growth,” said Rohan Pradhan, Deliveroo chief sales officer.

“We are pleased to partner with Visa and offer financial support to the small and independent restaurants who need a helping hand. This is a small gesture to say thank you for their hard work and outstanding customer experience during this unprecedented time.”
