A second Hotel Brooklyn will open in the UK in 2022, in Leicester, with the aim of becoming the city’s ‘most accessible hotel’.

Located beside the expanded Welford Road Stadium, which is home to the Leicester Tigers rugby club, the 191-room Hotel Brooklyn Leicester will feature The Lair Restaurant and Bar as well as Runyon’s Atrium diner, when it opens in the summer of 2022.

It follows the opening of the first venue of the design-led hotel in Manchester in February.

The hotel, which is part of the Bespoke Hotels group, is being designed by Squid Inc, the team behind Hotel Gotham and Hotel Brooklyn in Manchester. Like the original Hotel Brooklyn, which is described as being a leader in accessible design, the new hotel’s design will centre on inclusivity using European and American influences.

Architectural features will include a central atrium stretching over five floors that will create an “anti-slick, anti-corporate sensibility”, according to the design team.

“Hotel Brooklyn is a perfect fit for Leicester. It will bring a destination hotel into the heart of the city, attract a new audience of customers and, we hope, become a business of which the city will be truly proud,” says Robin Sheppard, chairman of Bespoke Hotels.
