Pret A Manger is to reopen all of its Veggie Pret stores across the UK this week, with the majority offering delivery for the first time.

All 10 locations – including nine in London and one in Manchester – will reopen this Thursday (11 June), having been closed since March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Each store will offer takeaway, with delivery to be introduced across seven of the locations, for the first time, via Deliveroo.

As with the wider Pret estate, all reopened stores will have enhanced safety measures in place to protect staff and customers, with a maximum of six customers allowed in at any one time.

Menus will be limited to allow for social distancing to be followed in the kitchens, but will include consumer favourites including the vegan eggless mayo and cress baguette; the vegan 'chuna mayo' baguette; and the VLT, which combines roasted shiitake mushroom “rashers”, sliced tomatoes, green salad and vegan mayo on malted bread.

“We are excited to be reopening all 10 of our Veggie Pret shops this week,” says Claire Clough, Pret UK managing director.

“We know that many of our customers are working from home and missing their plant-based favourites, so partnering with Deliveroo means that more customers can access our extensive veggie and vegan menu.”

“I want to thank the amazing teams who are re-opening our Veggie Pret shops – we couldn’t do it without your support.”

This week will also see more regular Pret stores reopen across the country, with several train station locations included. Pret stores located inside shopping centres will also start to open their doors from 15 June.

The sandwich chain has so far reopened more than 300 sites in its c.500 estate.
