US burger chain Five Guys has added another site to its UK estate.

The latest addition to its portfolio opened at London Bridge City earlier this week for delivery and takeout, and will also offer dine-in options as and when the easing of lockdown restrictions allow.

Two further openings are also planned for the near future; one on Chiswick High Road in London; the other occupying the former Carluccio's site on Jubilee Street in Brighton.

The Five Guys menu features a range of 'speciality' burgers, hot dogs and fries, with around 250,000 possible topping combinations available.

Unlike many of its competitors, the fast food chain kept a select number of sites in its c.100-strong UK estate open throughout the Coronavirus lockdown.

In April it begun reopening the rest of its portfolio for delivery and click-and-collect, with a full menu available at each reopened site.

At the time, Five Guys' UK CEO John Eckbert said the company was adopting a ‘phased approach’ to reopening Five Guys stores, and adhering to Government advice to ensure the safety of its customers and crew.

Five Guys opened its first UK restaurant in Covent Garden back in 2013.

It was originally launched in the US in 1986 by Jerry and Janie Murrell and their sons – the original ‘five guys’ – in Arlington, Virginia, and now operates more than 1,500 restaurants worldwide.
