All-day brasserie and traiteur Maison François will open this autumn in London’s St James’ on the site of Simon Parker Bowles' Greens restaurant.

The all-day restaurant, which is inspired by the grand brasseries of France, has confirmed it will open on 14 September.

Plans to open the restaurant were revealed at the end of last year when Property management company The Crown Estate said it has signed a deal for the restaurant to open.

It will serve breakfast, with breads and pastries made in its in-house bakery, as well as brunch, lunch, tea and dinner as well as feature a wine bar called Frank’s and wine room.

Breakfast and brunch items will include oysters, terrines, homemade charcuterie with the lunch and dinner menu set to feature brasserie classics, including dishes such as Reblochon gougères; ravioli dauphine with Comté and black pepper; ratatouille with pistou and seasonal roast cabbage with anchoïade.

There will also be meat and fish dishes cooked over a wood-fire grilled, such as roast chicken and John Dory, and a dessert trolley from which dishes such as Paris-Brest will be served.

The kitchen will be headed up by Matthew Ryle, former head chef at Isabel in Mayfair and a finalist in the 2018 series of MasterChef: The Professionals. Ed Wyand, formerly of Hackney wine bar Verden, will oversee the wine offer.

Parker Bowles, former brother-in-law of Camilla, closed Green’s in 2016, after The Crown Estate announced its redevelopment plans for the area. The plan had been to relocate the restaurant but further details are yet to be released on this.
