Healthy fast food chain Leon says it is in the process of opening four new restaurants within motorway service station locations.

Next week (30 July), the group is to open a site at Clacket Lane Eastbound, having already opened a site at the Roadchef-operated Clacket Lane Westbound on Tuesday (21 July)

Leon says it will also open a third site at Leeds Motorway Services on the same day next week; followed by a fourth at Cobham Motorway Services in August.

The latter two sites will both be operated by SSP.

Leon's decision to open the new service station sites comes in response to the staycation boom, which will see many Brits choose to holiday at home rather than abroad this year

New tech initiatives will be in operation at the two SSP sites, including contact-free ordering and click and collect options.

“One of the big reasons we started Leon was because we were travelling every day from London, often working long hours as most people do,” says John Vincent, CEO and founder.

“We would stop at service stations and garages along the way, and it was the lack of good food at some motorway service stations that inspired us to create Leon in the first place.

“So, it’s been fantastic to form a partnership with Roadchef over the last couple of years. They’ve proved to be one of our best operators, and we know from many friends and guest of Leon how important it is to them to be able to eat well on the go.”
