Philippines-born Hernandez will run the kitchen of new neighbourhood restaurant The Silver Birch, which is due to open in the south west London district next month. The restaurant will open on the site that was formerly home to cafe chain Brew
The Silver Birch is being launched by founder Tim Price with Edward Allsopp, previously general manager at Wild by Tart in Belgravia as restaurant manager.
It will serve a contemporary, seasonal menu from breakfast through to dinner, described as being reflective of Hernandez’s Michelin background and years working at some of London’s top restaurants as well as in the two Michelin starred Matsalen in Sweden.
Hernandez was shortlisted as a Chef to Watch in the 2019 Estrella Damm 2019 National Restaurant Awards.
