The Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) is set to open its ninth branch and biggest Slim Chickens restaurant to date in Manchester’s Trafford Centre in early November.

The US-hatched, fast-casual chicken brand started 17 years ago in Arkansas and has three sites in London as well as sites in Bluewater, Cardiff, Bristol, Southampton and Birmingham.

The brand was founded by Tom Gordon and Greg Smart in 2003 and currently operates more than 100 restaurants in the US. Its first UK site opened early last year in Soho following a franchise deal with Giraffe and Ed’s Easy Diner owner Boparan

The Manchester restaurant, the third Slim Chickens to open this year, will offer a menu that includes the restaurant’s signature hand-breaded, buttermilk-marinated chicken tenders, hot wings and fresh sandwiches.

Also, on the menu is Slim Chickens’ 14 dipping sauces including its signature sauce, Blue Cheese, Honey BBQ, Sriracha Garlic, Korean BBQ and Ranch, alongside a choice of five sides such as fried pickles and mac & cheese.

The drinks list features hand-spun shakes, Slims own beers and cocktails.

As well as in-restaurant dining, Slim Chickens Trafford Centre will also offer click and collect and delivery via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.

Diners will be able to download the Slim Chickens app to take advantage of an opening offer of three free chicken tenders* as well as on-going reward and privileges.

Designed by Harrison, the 2,527 sq ft site will seat around 135 covers and will be the first Slim Chickens restaurant to have a dedicated bar.

Interiors will nod to the brand’s US roots with exposed brick and industrial beams ‘evoking a sense of a true Southern eatery whilst creating an inviting social space’.
