Korean fried chicken specialist Wing Wing to open in London’s Chinatown

The restaurant, located on Charing Cross Road, will be the third in the capital for Wing Wing, joining its sites in Tavistock Square and Hammersmith.

The three-floor 2,500 sq ft venue will feature event spaces and KTV karaoke rooms alongside the dining room.

Its menu will focus on ‘chimaek’ – a combination of chicken and maekju, the Korean word for beer – with a selection of chicken wings in a variety of flavours as well as burgers, wraps, rice boxes, and salads.

The restaurant will also feature ‘bottoms-up’ beer dispensers that allow customers to serve themselves beer at the table.

“Wing Wing brings two Korean institutions together – food and music,” says Carl Kjellqvist, Managing Director at Wing Wing.

“We cannot wait to open the flagship restaurant in Chinatown, in the heart of cosmopolitan London and the ideal place to have a flagship for any east Asian brand.”

Wing Wing is part of a number of new openings to combine a food and music offer under one roof. Bao’s third London restaurant opening in Borough, which opened in 2019, also features a KTV karaoke room.

This signing of Wing Wing was secured by property agent Shelley Sandzer on behalf of Chinatown landlord Shaftesbury.
