Amy Poon is to launch a wonton-focused pop-up at Stevie Parle’s Joy restaurant in Portobello Docks to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Poon’s Wontoneria will serve Poon’s famed pork wontons in a chilli vinegar dressing on 12 and 13 of February for delivery or collection.

The minimum order is 16 wontons (£15) with further wontons available in batches of eight  (£7.50).

Orders go through the Joy website and must be placed before midnight on Tuesday 9 February.

The daughter of Chinese masterchef and restaurateur Bill Poon, Amy launched a successful Poons pop-up in 2018 and a permanent site is expected to open soon.

Launched in the 70s, Poon’s grew to seven sites and is considered by many to be one of London’s most influential Chinese restaurants.

The Covent Garden restaurant in particular broke the mold with its open kitchen, bare brickwork and avoidance of Chinese restaurant design clichés.
