Deliveroo has launched a cheaper subscription service aimed at families that offers unlimited free delivery on orders over £25 for £3.49 a month.

The new Plus For Family subscription sits alongside the delivery giant’s existing Plus subscription that launched in 2017 and nets customers free delivery on orders over £10 for £11.95 a month.

Deliveroo says the service is designed to help families, couples and group households reduce costs on larger orders and that Plus For Family is a first-to-market for any online food-delivery service.

Those that sign up will also get access to exclusive offers and deals from restaurants that are part of the programme, which are available to all Plus members.

“At Deliveroo our mission is to become the definitive food company. We know our customers are ordering more frequently and ordering larger baskets, whether that’s ordering dinner when they work late or getting groceries conveniently delivered to their front door,” says Deliveroo UK and Ireland chief business officer Carlo Mocci.

Deliveroo has also announced a surge in demand for its whitelabel Signature service, which enables customers to order delivery, pick up and table service via restaurants’ own websites and apps.

Operators now using the service include Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Wagamama, Wingstop, Patty & Bun and The Athenian.

Deliveroo aims to have 50 new restaurant partners signed up to Signature by the end of the month and says the solution is designed to give restaurant partners the opportunity to build a direct relationship with their customers and grow their online business.
