The team behind the group of pubs, bars and restaurants that owns venues including The Earlsfield in south west London and The Charlotte in Southwark has taken on the former Foxlow site in Chiswick for a new venue.

Called Betty, it will be modelled on the group’s Hannah bar in Battersea, which serves a range of snacks and small plates alongside a grill menu of dishes such as burgers, steak and baby back ribs. The bar is also known for its Oyster Tuesdays, where Malden oysters are £1 each between 1pm and 10pm and its brunch menus that includes breakfasts, rostis and smoothie bowls.

The group, which originally begun as steakhouse and grill brand Cattle Grid, now operates four London venues, including Heidi in Balham, with Betty set to be its fifth.

Founded by Steve Novak in 2008, the group also operates one Cattle Grid restaurant in Windsor’s Jubilee Arch.

The Chiswick site was previously home to Foxlow, sister restaurant of the Hawksmoor brand, as well as Sam’s Brasserie before that. Foxlow closed in March 2018.
