Restaurant and hotel businesses including Dishoom, Made in Oldstead, D&D London The Dorchester Collection & 45 Park Lane were named winners at last night’s (18 March) Springboard Virtual Awards for Excellence.

The awards recognise achievements in hospitality last year, with the winners selected across 17 categories including employee health and wellbeing, staff communication, best dine at
home experience and most innovative alcohol strategy.

Dishoom took home the Employee Health & Wellbeing award with Made in Oldstead, the meal delivery arm founded by the team behind The Black Swan at Oldstead, was named Best Delivered "Dine at Home" Experience.

The Best Staff Communication award went to The Dorchester Collection & 45 Park Lane, with The Dorchester also picking up the award for Best Group Community Engagement, while D&D London was recognised for Best Internal Covid-19 Training Programme.

“Despite being faced with such adversary in 2020, the hospitality industry went above and beyond and deserves to be celebrated,” says Springboard CEO Chris Gamm.

“All the winners have undertaken amazing work, achieving incredible results, despite the circumstances the sector has been faced with. Springboard are thrilled to be recognising them”.

The event also saw the launch of Springboard’s new fundraising initiative – ‘Virtual Race to Nicaragua’. A trek to Nicaragua was set to take place in Central America itself in March 2020, to raise vital funds for Springboard, but the trip was postponed due to COVID-19.
